Messapia/ Art Fair

Messapia/ Art Fair

Painting, sculpture and installations scattered among palaces, churches and small galleries in the historic centre of Lecce. This is the 'Messapia Art Fair: a celebration of contemporary art in Lecce' organised by Darte studio, a sort of itinerary unravelling through the city's historic centre to discover the visionary gaze of contemporary artists. Sixty in all, coming from different parts of the country to bring their works, their creative backgrounds, and their view of the world. There are six stops where the exhibitions come to life: the former Sant'Anna Conservatory, Palazzo Turrisi, the small church of San Francesco della Scarpa, the Must Off Gallery, the small church of the Fondazione Palmieri. There is also the Maccagnani Gallery where, from 24 April, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Ugo Tapparini's birth, there is an exhibition with works from Eugenio Serratì's private collection, which traverses, on the tip of his brush and on the thread of the bitter irony that characterised him, several decades of the late master's long career.

The widespread exhibition can be visited every day (except Mondays for the Must) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
