THE CASTLE OUTSIDE THE DOOR/From Lupiae to Rudiae by bike

In the footsteps of the ancient citizens of Lecce and the fellow citizens of Quinto Ennio. "From Lupiae to Rudiae by bicycle", is the second stage of the review of itineraries "The Castle out of town-connections with the territory", proposed, organized and promoted by Through the Castle, in collaboration with the Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce. We start from the secrets, and the dungeons, of the Charles V Castle with a visit to the basement, the prisons, the chapel of Santa Barbara and the patrol walkways. You then leave the manor to discover the Roman traces in the city: Amphitheater, Theater, Temple of Isis, Terme and Trapetum. Thus we arrive at Porta Rudiae, the one that connected Lupiae and Rudiae, and by bicycle we reach the ancient Messapian city which was the birthplace of the poet Quinto Ennio. After having eaten the packed lunch, the day continues with the guide who will tell about the wonders of the Amphitheater and the excavations carried out in the Acchiatura Fund.
