Impossible encounters with Bernardini, Macor and Pellegrino

Impossible encounters with Bernardini, Macor and Pellegrino

Nicola Bernardini, Emilia Macor and Teodoro Pellegrino. Three characters, three stories of which Leccesi sometimes know little or nothing, and a single passion: the Library, a place more than others endowed with a soul. The new event of the Incontri Impossibili (Impossible Meetings) project, organised by the C.A.SA. Association, is dedicated to them. Since 2021, the association has been proposing encounters with little-known places and characters of our city through the language of theatre. Nicola Bernardini and Emilia Macor were companions in life and in their work as journalists. An intellectual couple whose history is intertwined with that of Lecce at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, with a bitter epilogue that takes us back to the beginnings of fascism in the 1920s. Another incredibly fascinating figure, multifaceted and passionate, is Teodoro Pellegrino, a great promoter of the city's cultural life after the Second World War, an advocate of the birth of the University and the Academy of Fine Arts: the wonderful reading room of the Provincial Library is named after him. The theatrical tours take place in the Library's most atmospheric rooms, between the Press Museum and the reading room, and include three scenes and a musical interlude by maestro Stefano Pellegrino.

Times: every 30 minutes from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
