FAI SPRING DAYS/Istituto Presta Columella

The Fai Days of Spring represent a bit of a metaphorical greeting to winter and a great desire for beauty, and for this reason they are expected as we await the summer. Following the volunteers of the Italian Environmental Fund, visitors can discover the wonders of the area that are usually inaccessible. This is the case of the Presta Columella Institute, which can be visited from 9 to 13 by the apprentice guides of the same school. From 17 to 20, however, it is possible to take part in the conference in which "The experts tell the ways of tobacco".

More than 150 years have passed since, in 1870, that farmhouse was established with the aim of "gathering orphans or vagabonds to make them honest and intelligent farmers, farmers or gastaldis in order to improve farms and manage crops" . And it's been 10 years since it was opened to the public for the last time, again on the occasion of the Fai Spring Days. The historic building stands on the still buried remains of ancient Rudiae, just a stone's throw from the Archaeological Park. Over the years, the structure built on what remained of the ancient convent of the Capuchin Friars of Rugge, has undergone several alterations.
