Chronicles from Lecce in the 1800s

It goes back to the time when the streets of Lecce were traveled by carriages, the ladies' dresses rustled on the floor and men to greet them took off their hats. "Chronicles of Lecce in the 1800s. Facts, places and characters of the Lecce Risorgimento" is the special guided tour curated by The Monument's People in partnership with the Pro Loco of Lecce. The tour goes through well-known places in the city, or unfortunately disappeared, that tell anecdotes, lives, forgotten characters and mostly unpublished historical facts. Thus we are immersed in the atmosphere of a century characterized by various cultural and social ferments, and which in Lecce saw Duke Sigismondo Castromediano, among others, as a protagonist. Also dedicated to him is the grand ball "Il Carnevale Barocco alla Corte di Lecce," by Lecce's Russian Ballet Society school of historical dances, which takes place the same morning at the Augustinian complex.
Departure 10:30 a.m. from the Sedile in Piazza Sant'Oronzo.
