Tienimi per mano, l’unione fa la forza

Those of people with disabilities are stories that have to face various kind of constraints in everyday life. Stories that confront with social stigmas on a daily basis, especially when they encounter the experience of motherhood. Thus, five women who were going through this experience without being able to confront others, joined together in a network of spontaneous friendship that, on the eve of International Women's Day 2023, became a proper association. And those stories ended up in the collective work “Tienimi per mano, l’unione fa la forza. Storie, interviste ed esperienze” (PAV edizioni), presented in the warmth of the OgniBene library, in the heart of the former Augustinian complex. Speakers will include Antonella Tarantino, president of the DisabilmenteMamme association, in dialogue with Marco Bello, president of Costruiamo inclusione APS, Larissa Pagliara, lawyer and president of PosSiamo APS, and Francesca Zaccaria, social worker at the ASL Lecce Rehabilitation Overdistrict Structure. The speeches will conclude with some testimonies by mothers of people with disabilities.
