Studio Formafantasma. The design of hyperobjects

It arises from the need to create alternative paths, to free oneself from canonical visions and thus create other possible worlds. “Studio Formafantasma. The design of hyperobjects ”is the book by Marco Petroni (Postmedia ed.) Presented at the Bernardini Library. The author, theorist and design critic, professor of History of Applied Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, delves into the world of Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, the two founding designers of Studio Formafantasma based in Amsterdam, who in their research they deal with the social, political, historical and ecological aspects of design. "I have always looked at their projects as technical expressions of mental resistance", writes Petroni, "as the ability to imagine, the ability to tell alternative stories, as the concrete expression of a world that does not resign itself to the dominant narratives".
The designer Violetta Barba talks with the author.
