Sentimental history of the telephone/ Bruno Mastroianni

Sentimental history of the telephone/ Bruno Mastroianni

"Sentimental history of the telephone. Uno straordinario viaggio da Meucci all'Homo smartphonicus', Il Saggiatore edizioni, is the book presented by Bruno Mastroianni, journalist, philosopher, social media strategist and university lecturer, at the OgniBene Library. In the meeting, in collaboration with the festival Conversazioni sul Futuro and the association Diffondiamo Idee di Valore, journalists Pierpaolo Lala and Giulia Maria Falzea will converse with the author. A sick woman and a husband who did not intend to leave her alone. It all started from the need, which had prompted Italian emigrant Antonio Meucci to design the 'telephone' and which has remained the same throughout the evolution of this prodigious object: to communicate, to annul distances. The book recounts 150 years of our romantic and at the same time turbulent relationship with this revolutionary invention, in a journey that leads from Meucci and Bell to the age of smartphones, when making a phone call is the last necessity for which we use the telephone. Such an ingenious tool has become almost an extension of our body and the means to express our soul.
