Readers' Festival/ Stories of Humanity

The 18th edition of the Readers' Festival stops at the Bernardini Library with "Stories of Humanity. Women and Men for Change in the Past and Present". The Book Presidia with the Verri Fund, the Biblio-museum Pole, the Bernardini Library and the NEAR (Network for Empowerment, Autonomy and Resilience) project present "Danilo Dolci, poems, images and stories", the first in a series of events dedicated to men and women who have contributed to change with their ideas and practices. The protagonist is the figure of the Triestine poet Danilo Dolci, educator and activist of non-violence, convinced that no real change can be separated from the involvement and direct participation of those concerned. His idea of progress does not deny, but on the contrary values, culture and skills. One cannot remain a spectator in the face of what is happening in the world, which is fragile in its hyper-connectedness, lacking in ideals, incapable of a broad and forward-looking view, prey to autocracies. Culture must become militant, take sides, find examples, testimonies of women and men who, with their vision and operational, aggregative, communicative capacity, have marked history and improved the condition of the territories where they have lived and worked.
Free entrance.
