Paola Maritati/ Lingua Volgare

Paola Maritati/ Lingua Volgare

This is the poetic debut of Salento-born scenographer Paola Maritati, who publishes her first collection of verses 'Lingua Volgare' for Musicaos, Collana di Poesia. The reading and presentation by the author, who dialogues with publisher Luciano Pagano, are enriched by the musical interventions of singer-songwriter Mino De Santis, who also performs some unreleased tracks along with the best-known pieces from his repertoire. 'Lingua vulgare' is a poetic collection born from Paola Maritati's amazement at reality. And just like reality, it is both high and low, mixed together and impossible to separate. The author seems to be constantly searching for a balance between courtly and trivial verses, between classical Italian poetry, that of the origins and the leap forward into absolute modernity. A thin red thread unites ancient and contemporary poetic codes, so different from each other, almost antithetical. A common house welcomes and contains them, made up of many different archetypes and meanings.
