On the first anniversary of Niny Rucco's death

Niny Rucco, who passed away last year at the fine age of 98, had a law degree but had never practised law. He had chosen teaching out of sincere inclination. Above all, he had never given up his true passion, that of writing poetry, mostly in dialect. From 'Rrobbe spase' in 1977 to his last work 'Nu bbè na cosa facile'. He is quoted in 'Dizionario enciclopedico dei Salentini', included in Donato Valli's 'Storia della poesia nel Salento'. He is also present in the anthology 'Novecento dialettale salentino', also edited by Valli, and in the collection 'Teatro popolare salentino' by Ennio Bonea. Niny Rucco will be remembered by the Vice-President of the Province Antonio Leo, Carlo Alberto Augieri, Anna Rosa Aresta, Paolo Catalano, Antonio Convertino, Fernando Durante, Nando Ingrosso, Oronzino Invitto, Michele Mainardi, Gino Maragliulo, Gianni Persano, and Raffaele Polo.
