Nc'era nna fiata

Songs, stories, stornelli, proverbs and popular sayings of Cursi, all together in 'Nc'era nna fiata', so that they will not be lost forever. The author, Giuseppe Luigi Vincenti, collected them from the living voice of grandfather Peppe and grandmother Crocifissa when he was still a boy, recording them on tape and, years later, together with his daughter Mariangela, they were then transcribed and put on CD. Thus emerge popular expressions, religious and other beliefs that formed the heart of the traditions of the small Salento village, not only a historical memory not to be dispersed but, above all, an intangible heritage to be preserved. The book is presented in the presence of the author in the spaces of the Augustinian complex. Introduced by Mario Spedicato, University of Salento and president of SSPPLecce, and Mariangela Vincenti, editor of the volume.
