Monteruga/ Anna Puricella

It is set in what was once the small farming village in the countryside of Veglie, in whose name is still preserved the "wrinkled" image of the Arneo, in Monteruga, the novel of the same name (Fandango) by Anna Puricella presented in the OgniBene library. The author talks with Pierpaolo Lala about the story of Angelo, a young janitor who goes to live there in search of peace and solitude. But the ghosts of the people who once inhabited the small, now disused agricultural district come to visit him. In the sultriness of August 1993, between dream and delirium, visions of a Salento waned just yesterday follow one another, without sea and postcard tourism but rather harsh and unforgiving but, also, full of love and passion.
