Lucille degli Acholi/ Ilaria Ferramosca

It was the 1960s when Lucille Teasdale left for Africa where, together with her husband Piero Corti, she transformed the small hospital in Lacor into one of the first and largest non-profit hospitals in Uganda. But the story of this indomitable, passionate woman, who fought against the prejudices of her time to become a surgeon, is much longer and more exciting and is told by Ilaria Ferramosca in 'Lucille degli Acholi' (ed. il Castoro). The author is a guest of the "Agostiniani Libri" review organised by the Culture Department.
