"Italians visit Italy". The somewhat peremptory phrase is also the title of the book by Ester Capuzzo, whose subtitle reads, and clearly clarifies the author's intent, "Politics and tourism dynamics in Italy between the two world wars". The volume, presented in the Cloister 500 of the Bernardini library as part of the ExtraConvitto review, reconstructs the public intervention in the tourism sector in the last phase of the liberal state and during fascism, when tourism was transformed into a tool for the search for consent. Fascism directed the use of free time by workers and the new generations, accustoming Italians to holidays and broadening their cultural and geographical horizon.
