Double Escape/ Nicolangelo Barletti

In the bucolic space of the OgniBene library, in the beautiful garden surrounding the ancient complex, one turns the pages of 'Doppia fuga', a book by Nicolangelo Barletti (ed. Manni). The story, which starts on 28 September 1944, is that of Giulio V., an Italian consul in Larissa, Thessaly, who joins the demobilising German military convoy heading for Berlin in order to get to safety. It will be a long and agitated journey through an Italy still smouldering with bombings and rubble. A story that, years later, Giulio's daughter Elisa tells her son Nicola through the pages of her grandfather's diary. Discussing with the author are the writer Carlo D'Amicis and the director Davide Barletti.
