Diversity colors the world/ Jack&Chick

Diversity colors the world/ Jack&Chick

“With a great desire to live and a pinch of imagination it is possible to bring one's life back to safety”. This is the teaching contained in the book "Jack & Chick" (Dantebus Edizioni), written by Cosimo Resta and illustrated by Marco Vigna. In the form of a fairy tale, the author tells his story, that of a child suffering from a tumor pathology, with delicacy and depth. One bad day the protagonist Jack begins to see double and from that moment his normal life as a child will never be the same. In his head hides the egg of a chick (metaphor of the tumor mass), which at the end of the story will hatch as if by magic in the character of Chick, not without painful vicissitudes and the thread of suffering, which normally accompanies the path of the sick. oncological. But Jack does not give up and with tenacity and determination manages to heal, or rather, to bring his life to safety. The book and the topics it deals with are discussed in "Diversity colors the world: illustrations and dialogues on childhood pathologies" in the meeting at Officine Cantelmo with the author Cosimo Resta, the president of Cantelmo Marco Cataldo, the director of the U.O.C. of Pediatric Oncohematology at the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce Assunta Tornesello and a member of the Lecce Sports Union. Moderated by Antonio Sanfrancesco, a journalist for Famiglia Cristiana.
