Cycling the Sassi and Trulli Way

Cycling the Sassi and Trulli Way

Cycle tourism is a particularly environmentally friendly, economical way of travelling outside the usual canons and routes of mass tourism, as well as a lever for the local economy.  It is widespread in Europe, especially in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France and Spain, countries with a fairly extensive network of cycle tourism routes. Something is beginning to move in our parts too. Ciclofficina Onza Onza, Tagghiate Urban Factory and LeccePedala are organising, in collaboration with Libreria Palmieri, the presentation of the guide 'In bici sulla via dei Sassi e dei Trulli - Bari, Matera, Valle d'itria e Il mare di Puglia' by Roberto Guido. The guide is a fascinating journey through the stone heart of southern Italy, starting from the 'City of the Sassi' and ending in Brindisi, at the foot of the column at the end of the Appian Way. Six stages for just over 300 kilometres in total, through old Bari and the Murgia hills with their characteristic trulli and the wonderful landscape of the Apulian coast.

In the events area of the Tagghiate Urban Factory in Via dei Ferrari, Ediciclo publisher Vittorio Anastasia and transport economist Cosimo Chiffi discuss the topic with guidebook author Roberto Guido. Moderated by journalist Giorgia Salicandro.
