Agostiniani books/ Treason is a crime

'Follow the money', taught Judge Giovanni Falcone: to unravel the mafia's dirty business and counter its power, one must 'follow the money'. The same principle holds true in the new story of "Il tradimento è delitto" (Betrayal is murder), the fourth volume in the series of detective stories signed by Leonardo Palmisano, guest of the "Agostiniani libri" summer literary review held by the municipality. Palmisano, who in life deals with investigations and legality projects, and as a writer shows extreme skill in narrating the intricate environments of the Apulian underworld, puts Carlo Mazzacani, the bandit who paid for never having affiliated himself with the Sacra corona unita, centre stage. Having become a maverick, he is adept at moving shamelessly between the folds of those underworld relationships where a small misstep is enough to end up 'smoked'.
